On Wednesday, Tau Gamma Phi wanted to have a peaceful resolution with the hazing incident that killed a student from De La Salle-College of St. Benilde.

Atty. Jay Castor, the fraternity’s adviser sought to have a meeting with the family of the hazing victim Guillo Cesar Servando and the families of the suspect involved in the case. He announced this during the roundtable discussion of fraternities and school organization organized by the National Youth Commission.

He wanted to resolve this matter in a peaceful way so that the justice will be served fairly to the family of late Servando.

The victim died on June 28 after suffering from severe physical injuries he got during an initiation rite of Tau Gamma Phi. Aside from 18-year –old Servando, three others including a minor were injured from the hazing incident.

The primary objective of Atty. Castro is to seek justice for everybody including those who were suspected of having participated in the incident. He was sorry for the “shattered dreams” of their members caught up in the incident.

He pointed out that any time soon, peace will be found and both parties will settle the issue. He emphasized that the Tau Gamma Phi fraternity is fully cooperating with the authorities on the investigation of the case.

The fraternity has expressed their sadness over the incident. They wanted to make it clear that it is not part of their advocacy to kill neophytes. But it is their objective to be able to move the member of Tau Gamma Fraternity responsible.

On Tuesday night, a suspect in the hazing incident surrendered to Justice Secretary Leila De Lima. He was temporarily admitted to Witness Protection program after giving a statement.
The Bureau of immigration confirmed on Wednesday that one of the suspect, Kevin John Navoa already left the country en route to the United States.
