Another typhoon is expected to enter in the Philippine area of responsibility on Sunday. According to weather bureau’s forecast, tropical storm Neoguri is getting stronger as it turns into a typhoon.
In advisory, PAGASA announces that the said typhoon was estimated at 1, 410 kilometers off Virac, Catanduanes as of 4:00 a, on Saturday. They did not expect that the typhoon will have its landfall near the area.
Once the typhoon reaches the Philippine area, it will be called as “Florita,” the sixth tropical cyclone to visit the country this year.
Meteorologist Eric Leister from Accuweather said that Neoguri will continue to increase its intensity as it transition into a “strong typhoon” and makes it way going to the open western Pacific.
He said in a report that rapid strengthening is possible through Sunday into early next week as the cyclone progresses through an area of very warm ocean waters and low wind shear, and the inner core is well established.
He said the typhoon appears to be headed for Japan, while Taiwan should remain alert.
Meanwhile, the Philippines might encounter flooding rainfall in the west-central and northwest parts of the country, depending on the storm's track, Accuweather said. The country should better be prepared ahead of time to avoid bigger damage on property and life.
Neoguri is currently enhancing the southwest monsoon or habagat, bringing light to moderate rains to the Visayas, Mimaropa region, the Bicol region and some areas of Mindanao. Everyone is requested to stay away from slope and river side in case flooding or increase of water level will occur. Drainage system should be clear to avoid clogging.

The rest of the country including Metro Manila will have fair weather on Saturday with partly cloudy to cloudy skies accompanied by isolated rain showers and thunderstorms. Prepared your umbrella and other raining materials.
