Microsoft finally lowered the price of Xbox One video game by $100 Tuesday. It is the first strategy of the company to gain more profit since the launching of the device just six month ago.

The software giant will offer a version of its Xbox One for less than 20% which means that it only cost for $399 compared to the $499 when the device was released last November.

This version doesn’t include the Kinect motion sensor which is a part of Xbox One before. Microsoft decided to sell the Kinect separately to give an option to consumers when they wanted to buy it later.

Head of Microsoft’s Xbox group Phil Spencer said, “We’ve heard that you want more choices from Xbox One.” He added that Microsoft be always dedicated to its Kinect motion sensor, especially that more than 80% of customers use the Kinect today.

Sony’s PlayStation begin with an entry price of $399. Most consumers noticed the $100 dollar difference with Xbox One’s price and it cause them to buy and subscribe more Sony’s device than Microsoft’s. Others hinted that they would only buy once Microsoft began lowering the Xbox One’s prices.

As of now, Sony leads the sale after it reaches more than seven million PlayStation units sold to customers around the world in contrast to the five million Xbox One units Microsoft able to sell to retailers.
Aside from price drop, Microsoft also included some freebies such as free copies of the highly anticipated space age shooting game “Titanfall” that will be given to customers who bought new Xbox One units. The company even loaded it with other games just to make the device more enticing.

Microsoft stated that they would continuously offer new features for those who will buy and those Hulu and Netflix subscriber will be able to use the application free. Unlike before, customers still have to pay $9.99 for premium subscription in Microsoft’s Xbox live gaming social network.

Microsoft said it would also offer discounts on popular games, and free access to other titles, for members in the coming months.
