At least 10 houses was counted to be included in the fire and P500, 000 is noted to be the cost of destroyed property on Tuesday at Davao City’s residential area. 


Reports say that the fire took place in Purok 3, Jasmine Alley at E.Quirino Avenue, Davao City. This area is situated behind a hospital. And if the fire didn’t stop, a great possibility that it will create more damage to the properties around the area.

According to Senior Fire Office 1 (SFO!) Ramil Gillado of Bureau of Fire Protection’s Investigation and Intelligence Section (BFP-IIS) in Davao City that more that 10 families are affected by the fire and each one of them needs assistance.

The fire begins at the house owned by a man name Jimmy Umayas. Gillado said that the fire started due to electrical short circuit and an electric fan was left unplugged. The fire immediately spread to nearby houses that are composed of light materials.

 Firefighters from other stations also helped to put off fire around 3:20 a.m. So far, there are no casualties reported in the incident.
 But another incident happened in Sitio Ladian in Arakan Valley after a landslide occurred yesterday afternoon after the heavy rain brought by an inter-tropical convergence zone in some areas of Mindanao, Western Visayas and Palawan.
 Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council sent through a text message that eight shanties and a day care center have slight damaged in a landslide around 3 p.m at Ladian. The report says no one is hurt in the accident.
 The Barangay officials immediately evacuate affected families to Ladian Elementary School. As of now, weather monitoring is still done by the officials to ensure the security of its people and to avoid any casualties.
Mindanao will experience a light to moderate winds from the southwest to south of Visayas and slight to moderate seas, reported by PAGASA.

It's quite ironic how the element of fire and water continuously create calamities to human. Maybe we must learn how to balance the elements in our environment
